Illuminate your well being

Dr. Shel Seaver DNP PMHNP

Dr. Shel Seaver is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) and doctor of nursing practice (DNP).

She provides comprehensive and integrative psychiatric care for adolescents and adults.

Dr. Seaver views each of her patients holistically, as dynamic individuals with the capacity for growth and well-being. Holistic psychiatry encourages active patient involvement and emphasizes the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Psychiatric symptoms can occur at any point in one’s life and are often the result of a complex interplay between biological, psychological, and environmental factors. Dr. Seaver optimizes care by combining traditional psychiatric methods including psychopharmacology and psychotherapy with lifestyle treatment interventions addressing sleep, nutrition, stress, body movement, spirituality, creativity and interpersonal health.

Dr. Seaver has worked in healthcare for over twenty years. Prior to earning her doctorate in 2018, she worked in the inpatient hospital setting on both critical care and psychiatry. She particularly enjoys working with other healthcare providers to restore balance and wellbeing.

When not in the office, you might find her at one of the local farmer’s markets providing outreach as an Oregon State University Master Gardener, skiing on Mt. Hood with friends and family, forest foraging, or creating botanical art installations.

Education

Dr. Seaver’s education includes two Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and History from the University of Washington, a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree from Washington State University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Washington State University.

  • And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.
